3rd Workshop on Plasma Applications for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture & WG2-5 meetings

The third Workshop of the COST Action CA 19110 – Plasma applications for smart and sustainable agriculture took place in the periods 14-16 May 2023 in Gozd Martuljek, Slovenia.

The meeting represented an excellent forum for the presentation and discussion of new achievements in the areas covered by

  • Low-temperature plasma treatment of seeds
  • Low-temperature plasma treatment of plants
  • Plasma treatment of agricultural wastewater, growth media, manure and production of PAW
  • Applications of plasma processes and technologies in the food industry

The workshop was chaired Prof. Miran Mozetic (Jozef Stefan Institute), Prof. Gregor Primc (Jozef Stefan Institute), and Prof. Nevena Puač (Institute of Physics Belgrade).  offered valuable insight into several research fields of plasma in agriculture, bringing together researchers from across Europe with expertise in plasma physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural and food sciences, as well as engineering.

The organization of the Workshop was ensured by the International Scientific Committee: Henrike Burst, Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (Germany), Wolfgang Gernjak, ICRA Catalan Institute for Water Research (Spain), Matteo Gherardi, University of Bologna (Italy), Indrek Jõgi, University of Tartu (Estonia), Frantisek Krčma, Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry (Czech Republic), Kinga Kutasi, Wigner Research Centre for Physics (Hungary), Zdenko Machala, Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), Monica Magureanu, National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics (Romania), Miran Mozetič (chair), Jozef Stefan Institute (Slovenia), Anton Nikiforov, Ghent University (Belgium), Tomislava Vukušić Pavičić, University of Zagreb (Croatia), Joanna Pawlat, Lublin University of Technology (Poland), Gregor Primc, Jozef Stefan Institute (Slovenia), Nevena Puač, Institute of Physics Belgrade (Serbia), Oliver Schlüter, Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (Germany), Augusto Stancampiano, GREMI (France), Jana Šimečkova, Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic) and Organizing Committee: Marian Lehocky, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Centre of Polymer Systems, Slobodan Milošević, Institute of Physics in Zagreb, Domen Paul, Jozef Stefan Institute, Pia Starič, Jozef Stefan Institute, Petr Špatenka, Czech Technical University in Prague, Mark Zver, Jozef Stefan Institute.
