Event Details
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the Action, the training school was organized to disseminate specific aspects of cold plasma technology broadly. Experts from all scientific fields gave training lectures to transfer knowledge between researchers and different scientific fields. They also introduce PhD students and ECIs with fundamental aspects of cold plasma technology with different viewpoints.
The main focus of the school was the state-of-the-art in the field of plasma agriculture. The trainees had the opportunity to be acquainted with the latest accomplishments presented at such a level that trainees from different fields (sciences) could obtain basic knowledge.
Due to the nature of the hybrid event accessible for all participants, the First Training School was an ideal opportunity to provide general introductions of the cold plasma technology to participants. Finally, on-spot attendees from the neighbouring state Republic of Serbia and host state Bosnia and Herzegovina physically participated at the venue. The total number of registered participants was 278, of which 123 with a PhD.

What is virtual networking support (VNS) grant?
COST Actions can provide grants for scientific missions (exchange visits) aimed at strengthening the existing network by allowing scientists to go to an institution or laboratory in another COST Country or COST Near Neighbour Country or in COST International Partner Country to foster collaboration, to learn a new technique or to take measurements using instruments and/or methods not available in their institution/laboratory. STSMs are particularly, but not exclusively, intended for young researchers up to 40 years of age. Missions can last from 5 days to 3 months; an exceptional extension of up to 6 months is possible.
More details available at the PlAgri website here.
In case of any questions, contact the STSM coordinator leader, Prof. Dr. Jana Šimečková, or vice Prof. Dr. Indrek Jogi.

Event Details
We are pleased to invite you to the PlAgri Virtual Mobility Grant (VMG) Webinar on Friday, 15th March 2024, at 10.00 h CET.
The outputs provided in the context of the VMG call represent extremely valuable material for the entire Community as they can contribute to foster collaborations among research groups and progress towards COST Action Objectives. For this reason, the Webinar aims to promote the results obtained by VMG grantees, creating a nice opportunity to trigger fruitful discussions and strengthen the network. During the Webinar, the five VMG grantees will deliver short presentations about the main results of their VMG activities (for each grantee, 7 minutes to present + 3 minutes to answer questions will be available).
Program of the Webinar:
- 10.00-10.05: Welcome and introduction
- 10.05-10.15: “How important are seed treatments by atmospheric pressure cold plasma for PlAgri members? Evaluation of plasma sources, protocols, and challenges.” – Ignacio Muro Fraguas
- 10.15-10.25: “Generation of PAW for biological decontamination and chemical degradation.” – Ana Saínz-Garcia
- 10.25-10.35: “Plasma physical-chemical mechanisms of interaction with foods” – Filippo Capelli
- 10.35-10.45: “Plasma effect on safety and quality of foods” – Silvia Tappi
- 10.45-10.55: “A collection of posters related to PlAgri events” – Klaas De Baerdemaeker
- • 10.55-11.10: Discussion, final remarks, and closing
Contact, Dr. Giulia Laghi.
